Waivers for the 2026 Boston Marathon

 

The Greater New Bedford Track Club receives a limited number of waivers from the Boston Athletic Association for the Boston Marathon each year. The criteria for the waivers can be found below.

Waiver Rules:

• Interested members must fill out the online form which will be linked below during Fall/Winter 2025

​

• The interested member must be a member of the GNBTC for the entire 2024 and 2025 calendar year, and in good standing with membership dues.
   

• Interested member will not have received a Boston Marathon bib from GNBTC in 2024 or 2025.
   

• On the form the member must outline their involvement with the club during the calendar year, such as meeting attendance (6+ meetings) and volunteerism. All volunteerism for the club events will be documented by the Executive Board.

• A committee will review each form. The members name will not be on the form but instead a number will be given so that the committee does not know the identity of members applying for a waiver. The committee will attach a score from 1-10 for each applicant. The highest scoring applicants are then selected.

• Please complete the form by December 1, 2025

• Waivers will be presented at the January member meeting. ​
