Our last GNBTC Fun Run will be this week's Leo's Scoot
at the New bedford Airport

Every Wednesday the Greater New Bedford Track Club hosts our weekly time trials at scenic Fort Taber. The run starts at 6:30pm and follows a flat 2.5mile course along the bike path. We usually get about 40 runners a week in the summer. Runners of all paces and abilities are welcome, and walkers are encouraged. Results are posted to Coolrunning and in GNBTC tradition nobody comes in last!

You do not have to be a member to run, but hope once you become a regular you support the GNBTC by joining the club and volunteering one week. Email info@rungnbtc.com for more info or to be added to our email list to get results or last minute information.

Mailing list
Results and last minute information about our Fort Taber runs are sent out to our email list.  To get added to the list, email info@rungnbtc.com.

Volunteers Needed
The majority of our weekly time trials are free thanks to the work of a lot of dedicated volunteers. Our runs work on the simple principle that if every runner helped out just one week, everyone gets to run. Volunteering is easy and an online sign up sheet is available at here. We would like to think that all our regulars will help out at least one week during the summer. Your fellow runners will appreciate it.

Youth Run

Starting Wednesday, June 22nd at 6:30 PM in New Bedford’s beautiful Fort Tabor, we will be organizing a group of young enthusiastic runners who would like to run either    1 mile, 1.5 miles or 2.5 miles.  There will be knowledgeable runners there to run with the kids (they will be either GNBTC track club members or Dartmouth High School track team volunteers).

Runners will learn…

  • good eating habits
  • good warm up technique
  • new stretches
  • strengthening exercises
  • the value of a good cool down!

Please let us know if your child would be interested in participating by emailing us.
